Monthly Retainer Plans (Subscription Model)
Subscribing to a retainer plan entitling you to either 2 or 4 hours of monthly meeting time with your writing coach is the most cost-effective way to purchase our services. If you opt into the retainer model, your coach will send you a link to sign up through Square, our primary payment platform. After that, your subscription will renew automatically every 30 days on an ongoing basis. Though retainers are non-refundable month by month, you can log onto Square any time to pause, de-activate, or resume your plan.

Foundations Rate
Retainer for 2 hrs monthly: $85/hr ($170/month)
Retainer for 4 hrs monthly: $85/hr ($340/month)
Occasionally, writing coaches on our faculty may want to build up their client list more quickly than usual. To do so, they can choose to offer our reduced Foundations Rate to incoming clients. If you sign up with one of our coaches at the Foundations Rate, you will be able to keep that rate in place going forward (even after they stop accepting new clients at the Foundations Rate).Currently, 15 members of our faculty are taking on clients at the Foundations Rate.

Standard Rate
Retainer for 2 hrs monthly: $120/hr ($240/month)
Retainer for 4 hrs monthly: $120/hr ($480/month)
The Standard Rate is exactly what it sounds like: Gilliam’s standard rate for writing coaching. This rate reflects the professionalism and expertise that clients expect from our team of authors, instructors, and editors.

Plus Rate
Retainer for 2 hrs monthly: $150/hr ($300/month)
Retainer for 4 hrs monthly: $150/hr ($600/month)
The “Plus” Rate applies to in-person services or last-minute requests (those made within 24 hours of the desired appointment time). We value transparency, so you’ll never be surprised by unexpected charges at this rate. If your service qualifies for the Plus Rate, your coach will inform you in advance and confirm your approval before proceeding. This ensures flexibility and tailored support when you need it most.
